A unique project from Russia
that brings activism
and human rights together

NORA is the only community in Russia that provide complex help for activists, uniting places for meetings, psychological support and legal assistance. Our values are openness, horizontality and respect. Our vision is to save civic society in Russia and to create a place where every person and every constructive idea matters.

Places
NORA (from Russian "Нора" — Burrow) started in April 2026 in Moscow and Saint Petersburg as two free "brave & friendly" places for civic activists. They are a home for tens of horizontal projects and hundreds of activist events every year — from exhibitions and lectures to private meetings and evenings of writing letters to political prisoners.

Psychological help
Our psychologists provide free online consultations for Russian activists, volunteers, journalists, NGO members, and released political prisoners. We also run a chatbot in Telegram that works on the principles of equal consultation.

We are here for those who are having a hard time, helping them to cope with fear, burnout, depression and other conditions. And we are happy when people can continue their activity with healthy mind.
Legal assistance
NORA provides legal consultations for activists and other groups mentioned above. Our main expertise lies in political persecutions, imprisonment, activist risks and security, and we are also interested in history of political repressions. We can suggest a detailed plan for solving every case. In certain cases, we provide full legal support, crowdfunding and media promotion. Our human rights & legal team has written some important instructions which have already helped thousands of people.
We need your support
Nora is non-commercial and exists on crowdfunding. Currently we need at least 1,000 regular patrons for stable work and long-term planning — but every one-time payment also counts. The money goes toward paying for venue rent and management at both places, household and utility expenses, and supporting the work of psychologists and the human rights team.

We believe there are people around the world who share our views and mission, and are ready to make a contribution.

You can fill in the form here. If you want to change the amount or the frequency at which funds are charged to your card, send a letter to noraforpeople@gmail.com. You can easily cancel your subscription here at any time. Thank you for your support!

You can also share this page among your friends or in your social media to make a contribution.

You can help us — and we will continue to help others. Thank you 🧡
